Different destinations.

Keep a layout for the work in front of you. Profiles remember an arrangement; locations put one active window exactly where you want it.

A small utility.
Clear boundaries.

JetPane runs in the tray and keeps settings beside the executable. No app telemetry or cloud account. Optional start with Windows is an explicit choice.

What does “portable” mean?

Extract the complete ZIP into a writable folder and run JetPane.exe. The .NET runtime is bundled; native runtime files may unpack into the Windows temporary cache. Keep Help.html beside it. Exit before moving or deleting the folder, and disable optional startup first.

Does it support multiple monitors?

Yes. Profiles record windows across displays, including negative desktop coordinates. Monitor-geometry assignments select a profile when the configuration changes. Missing-monitor positions are kept inside a connected work area. Two physically different setups with the same geometry share a signature.

Which windows are supported?

Profiles save one position per process name. Explorer, ApplicationFrameHost, tool/cloaked windows and normal windows below 400×300 are excluded from automatic management. Administrator apps can reject movement; applications may enforce minimum sizes or move themselves.

How mature is this release?

This is an early prerelease. 89 local checks and a tray smoke test passed, including movement on two attached monitors. Physical docking, login startup, real editor gestures and broader third-party app/shortcut compatibility still need wider validation. Full source and test evidence are in the repo.

Can I back up my arrangements?

Export profiles, locations, shortcuts and settings to a .wpilot file. Import validates it and backs up the previous configuration. Settings from the earlier WindowPilot build remain compatible. PositionPro .ppro files are not supported.

What is JetPane?

A portable Windows utility for arranging open application windows across your monitors. Save a whole workspace, define a precise destination for one window, or fill a monitor with a snap layout.

  1. Arrange your workspace

Put your applications where you want them, then save a profile. Profiles record window positions, sizes, states and stacking order across the connected monitors.

  2. Create a window destination

Open the visual location editor, draw a rectangle on a monitor, and adjust it by dragging, resizing or entering exact coordinates. Name the location and assign a shortcut.

  3. Restore or snap

Restore a saved profile, use a location shortcut to move the active application, or snap windows into halves, thirds or quadrants. A profile and a single-window location serve different jobs.

Getting started

Download the Windows x64 ZIP, extract it to a writable folder and run JetPane.exe. The runtime is bundled. Use the tray menu for profiles, locations, shortcuts and help. Settings are stored locally and can be exported to a .wpilot backup.

Know the boundaries

This is a prerelease. Administrator windows, minimum application sizes and applications that reposition themselves can affect movement. See the help for exclusions and the current multi-monitor validation limits.
